Starlet Amrita Rao states she wants to explore darker emotions onscreen with dark and also different characters.
"I have been doing a lot of reading after 'Thackeray' yet I have to mention that a lot of the role I am offered until now, is something I have actually already done. As well as honestly, I do not wish to duplicate myself as a performer," Amrita toled IANS.
"I am expecting playing something grey, something that is actual, nuanced and also where the audience can find a brand-new Amrita," added the starlet, that received the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for the multilingual movie "Thackeray".
She essayed the role of Meena Tai Thackeray in the biopic of late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.
I want to play something dark and also different. Being an ardent follower of thrillers as well as strong story-driven films, I have a desire to work with two filmmakers now-- Sriram Raghavan as well as Ritesh Batra," she claimed.
The "Vivah" celebrity believes the fad of typecasting is going away.
"In the last few years, experimental, strong stories have actually done so well in the business as compared to formula movies with stereotyped characters, that filmmakers are bound to invest in well-written stories. Maybe that is why this is the gold time for storyteller and also entertainers," said the actress.
Having started her career in 2002 in Bollywood with "Abdominal Ke Baras", Amrita later appeared in films like "Ishq Vishq", "Key Hoon Na", "Vivah" and "Welcome to Sajjanpur". She accepted the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for "Thackeray" on Sunday.
