PM Narendra Modi Biopic: SC Declines Urgent Hearing Of Plea Challenging Bombay HC Order

The Supreme Court has declined urgent hearing of an appeal filed against the Bombay High Court order which had actually rejected to interfere with the launch of the Vivek Oberoi-starrer biographical drama on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A Bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi while declining urgent hearing on the plea said, "We have better things to do."The appeal was mentioned before the Bench by attorney Brijesh Kumar appearing for petitioner Satish Gaikwad.
Gaikwad is a Pune resident as well as national president of the Republican Party of India. The appeal in the apex court required an immediate stay on the launch of the film. Gaikwad claimed that if the flick is allowed to be launched for public viewing, it would certainly go against the version standard procedure imposed by the Political election Commission of India ahead of Lok Sabha political election.
The plea likewise questioned the timing of the film's release stating if released, it was most likely to earn the Prime Minister electoral mileage.
The biopic w as originally scheduled for launch on April 5 yet its launch day obtained postponed to April 11, which falls in the initial stage of polling of Lok Sabha elections.
Helmed by Omung Kumar, the movie has been criticised by the opposition events, which think that the biopic might offer an undue benefit to BJP in the polls.
